Edinburgh | 1-Day Course | Maximum 6 Learners Our Qualsafe Level 4 Out of Hospital Adult Immediate Life Support (ILS) course is delivered in Edinburgh by experienced HCPC-registered paramedics and is designed for responders who are required to recognise deterioration, manage adult cardiac arrest, and support advanced life support in the out-of-hospital environment. This intensive, scenario-led course focuses on real-world performance under pressure, not classroom theory alone. Learners develop confidence in ECG-led decision-making, airway and ventilation management, defibrillation, and post-ROSC care, all within a clearly defined scope of practice and strong clinical governance framework. Course Details: - Qualification: Qualsafe Level 4 Award in Out of Hospital Adult Immediate Life Support (RQF) - Duration: 1 Day - Time: 09:00 – 17:00 - Location: Edinburgh - Class Size: Maximum 6 learners per course - Validity: 1 year (annual requalification required) Entry Requirements To attend this course, learners must: - Hold a FREC 4 qualification or equivalent - Be currently working or intending to work in a pre-hospital or out-of-hospital clinical role - Be able to operate under appropriate clinical governance and supervision What the Course Covers The ILS course develops your ability to recognise the deteriorating patient, initiate timely resuscitation, and manage adult cardiac arrest in line with Resuscitation Council UK guidance. Teaching integrates ECG recognition, airway management, ventilation, defibrillation, and effective team working, ensuring skills are transferable to real operational environments. Scenario-Based Training Learners participate in high-fidelity adult cardiac arrest simulations, practical skill stations, and team-based resuscitation scenarios. Structured debriefs focus on communication, leadership, and patient safety, helping responders perform confidently as part of a resuscitation team. Who This Course Is For This course is suitable for FREC 4 responders, ambulance clinicians, event medical staff, and registered healthcare professionals who require annual ILS competence and revalidation. Important Note on Clinical Practice Completion of this course confirms competence in Immediate Life Support at the point of assessment. Rescue Med provides education and assessment but does not accept responsibility for post-course clinical practice. Learners must work within their scope of practice, organisational policies.
Cancellation Policy
At Rescue Med, we understand that plans can change, and we aim to be as fair and transparent as possible while ensuring the smooth running of our courses. Cancellations 1 month or more before the course start date – full refund. Between 2–4 weeks before the course start date – 50% refund. Between 1–2 weeks before the course start date – 25% refund. Within 7 days of the course start date – no refund will be issued. Non-attendance (“no-shows”) – no refund. Refunds apply to course fees only. Any additional costs (e.g. travel, accommodation) remain the responsibility of the learner. Rescheduling Requests to reschedule made within 2 weeks of the course start date will incur a £150 administration fee. Learners must attend the full duration of the course to meet assessment and accreditation requirements. Provider Cancellations Rescue Med reserves the right to postpone or reschedule courses in order to meet operational or business needs. In the event of force majeure (e.g. severe weather, instructor illness, unforeseen incidents), Rescue Med will make every effort to accommodate affected learners. Where Rescue Med cancels or reschedules a course, no additional fees will be charged, and learners will be offered either a full refund or transfer to an alternative course date.
