FREC 4 – First Response Emergency Care (Level 4) Take your emergency care training to the next level with our QA Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (FREC 4), delivered by frontline paramedics and specialist healthcare professionals. This modular delivery is split days day 1 & 2, with 2 weeks off to compete workbook 1. Complete days 3 & 4 with 1 month interval to complete work books 2 and 3 then return for day 5 and final Exam. This is your next step in becoming a confident, capable, and career-ready responder. 📍 Course Overview Duration: 5 Days Times: 09:00 – 17:00 each day Location: Rescue Med Responder Academy, Roslin, Edinburgh (indoor classroom, simulation suite, and outdoor environments) Class Size: Maximum of 6 learners per course for a premium learning experience This course blends essential theory with intensive hands-on practice, building your ability to assess and manage medical and trauma emergencies in the field. Ideal for those working in or progressing toward event medical cover, private ambulance roles, or pre-hospital response teams. 🧠 What You'll Learn Throughout the course, you’ll cover advanced first responder topics including: Scene safety and management Advanced patient assessment (medical & trauma) Airway management and oxygen delivery Medical emergencies: stroke, diabetes, sepsis, asthma, cardiac events Trauma care: bleeding, fractures, spinal injuries, burns, environmental emergencies Enhanced use of monitoring equipment (BM, SpO₂, BP, ECGs) Basic pharmacology and administering emergency medications e.g. Entonox Working under clinical supervision and understanding professional boundaries Assisting the Paramedic You’ll complete formal practical assessments, theory exams, and take part in live scenario-based exercises designed to simulate real-life calls. 🎯 Realistic, Scenario-Based Learning Rescue Med courses go far beyond the classroom. Cancellation Policy
At Rescue Med, we understand that plans can change, and we aim to be as fair and transparent as possible while ensuring the smooth running of our courses. Cancellations 1 month or more before the course start date – full refund. Between 2–4 weeks before the course start date – 50% refund. Between 1–2 weeks before the course start date – 25% refund. Within 7 days of the course start date – no refund will be issued. Non-attendance (“no-shows”) – no refund. Refunds apply to course fees only. Any additional costs (e.g. travel, accommodation) remain the responsibility of the learner. Rescheduling Requests to reschedule made within 2 weeks of the course start date will incur a £150 administration fee. Learners must attend the full duration of the course to meet assessment and accreditation requirements. Provider Cancellations Rescue Med reserves the right to postpone or reschedule courses in order to meet operational or business needs. In the event of force majeure (e.g. severe weather, instructor illness, unforeseen incidents), Rescue Med will make every effort to accommodate affected learners. Where Rescue Med cancels or reschedules a course, no additional fees will be charged, and learners will be offered either a full refund or transfer to an alternative course date.
